WHERE AM I ??

WHEN ALL JNANIS HAVE TOLD TO FIND OUT
'WHO AM I ?' FOR SPIRITUAL PROGRESS, HOW IS
THIS TITLE SAYS 'WHERE AM I ?'

WHERE AM I ??

NOBODY KNOWS FROM WHERE WE HAVE COME &
WHERE WE ARE GOING ??
THE PRESENT EXISTENCE ALSO IS WITHOUT ANY
CHOICE. HOWEVER SPIRITUALITY HAS SHOWN A
WAY TO PUT AN END TO THIS EXISTENCE, CYCLES
OF BIRTH & DEATH, BY GOD'S GRACE(ANUGRAHA).
LET GOD LEAD US IN THE PATH OF LIBERATION.

AS WE ARE ALL ENVELOPED BY MAYA WHICH HAS
TWO CHARACTERISTICS OF 'AVARANA' & 'VIKSHEPA'
SHAKTIES. AVARANA SHAKTI CONCEALS REALITY,
WHEREAS VIKSHEPA SHAKTI PROJECTS WRONG
NOTION IN ITS PLACE, MISLEADING THE AVIDYA JIVA
ALTOGETHER. WE HAVE THE FAMOUS EXAMPLE
OF ROPE SEEN AS SNAKE IN DULL LIGHT DUE TO
MAYA'S  'AVARANA' & 'VIKSHEPA' CHARACTERISTICS.

PEOPLE BY BIRTH ARE SO MUCH SOAKED, IMMERSED
IN MAYA THAT, THEY DO NOT WANT TO STRAIN
THEIR MIND TO DO VICHARA - ANALYSE, TO FIND
THE TRUTH, AS LONG AS THEIR BASIC NEEDS
OF BODY, WORLDLY MIND ARE SATISFIED. THEY ARE
NOT PREPARED TO HEAR EVEN IF SOMEBODY IS
PREPARED TO EXPLAIN THE REALITY TO THEM.

MAIN PROBLEM TO THEM IS THAT THEY CANNOT
ADJUST THEIR MIND TO BELIEVE WHAT IS BEING
TOLD, AS THEIR SENSES SHOW DIFFERENTLY, UNREAL
AS REAL !! AS THE VERY FOUNDATION OF WHAT THEY
THOUGHT AS REAL FOR MANY YEARS WILL CRUMBLE
DOWN & FALL APART. THEIR MIND REVOLTS, RESISTS
CHANGE & DOES NOT ACCEPT THE TRUTH DUE TO
AVIDYA & MAYA, EVEN IF WE QUOTE GREAT SAINTS
NAMES LIKE SRI SHANKARACHARYA, SWAMI
NITHYANANDA, RAMANA MAHARSHI, RAMAKRISHNA
PARAMAHAMSA, SWAMI VIVEKANANDA, SWAMI
SHIVANANDA ETC.

Unreality Of The World As Told By Above 6 Saints --

SRI SHANKARACHARYA --

Sri Bhagavatpada has told that if world is real, it should
be visible during Deep Sleep State also. In deep sleep
state nothing is seen, hence world is UNREAL
(ASATHYA). He has told the same thing in Dasha Sloki

SLOKA 9

All this universe, being other than the self,is unreal,
for the self alone is all-inclusive,constitutes the ultimate
goal,
and is self established and self dependent.
I am that One, Auspecious and Pure, that alone remains.

SWAMI NITHYANANDA --

Atman has neither a beginning nor an ending. Atman
has not come from anywhere nor does He go anywhere.
Atman is everywhere. There is nothing existing but Atman.
Interior to you and exterior to you all creation, which
fact is unknown to you.

In the Hridayakasha(sky of Spiritual Heart, meaning no
real, physical world) is seen the most excellent of sunrise;
when water is placed in an earthen pot, the reflection of
light can be seen. Similarly, the entire universe, the whole
Brahmanda (Universal creation) can be seen within one.
When one is seated in a moving vehicle, the world seems
to be moving.Similarly the entire universe can be perceived
within one.

RAMANA MAHARSHI --

Bhagavan: There is neither Past nor Future. There is only
the Present. Yesterday was the present to you when you
experienced it, and tomorrow will be also the present when
you experience it. Therefore experience takes place only in
the present, and beyond experience nothing exists.

Lady: Are then Past and Future mere imagination?

Bhagavan: Yes, even the Present is mere imagination, for the
sense of time is purely mental. Space is similarly mental;
therefore birth and rebirth, which take place in time and space
cannot be other than imagination.
_______________________________
IN JEWEL GARLAND OF ENQUIRY(Vichara Mani Mala) - -
Whatever is seen is the play of the intellect, which is
the effect of nescience. Brahman illumines the
intellect. This intellect projects its false imagination in
states of waking, dreaming and merges in
the nescience in the state of deep sleep.
Nothing came into existence in the past.Nor is there
anything existing now. Nor will there be anything in

the future.Since the objects that are known do not

(really) exist, the terms 'witness' and 'seer' are not
applicable.

RAMAKRISHNA PARAMAHAMSA --

The fourth  of Five Commandments of Sri Ramakrishna

4) And you should always discriminate between the Real
and the unreal. God alone is real, the Eternal Substance;
all else is unreal, that is, impermanent. By discriminating
thus, one should shake off impermanent objects from
the mind."

On another occasion --

VAIKUNTHA: "Is the world unreal?"
MASTER: "Yes, it is unreal as long as one has not
realized God. Through ignorance man forgets God and
speaks always of 'I' and 'mine'. He sinks down and down,
entangled in maya, deluded by 'woman and gold'. Maya
robs him of his knowledge to such an extent that he
cannot find the way of escape, though such a way exists.

Listen to a song:
When such delusion veils the world, through Mahamaya's
spell,
That Brahma is bereft of sense
And Vishnu loses consciousness,
What hope is left for men? .

Swami Vivekananda --

Swami Vivekananda has told in Jnana Yoga that world is
unreal & is a metal projection !!

An Unreal Universe

The first part of the approach is negative, the process

of neti, neti—not this, not this. Whatever is unreal—
that is, impermanent, imperfect, subject to change—
is rejected. The second part is positive: whatever is
understood to be perfect, eternal, unchanging—is
accepted as real in the highest sense.

Are we saying that the universe that we apprehend is
unreal? Yes and no. In the absolute sense, it is unreal.
The universe and our perception of it have only a
conditional reality, not an ultimate one. To go back to
our earlier reference to the rope and the snake: the
rope, i.e., Brahman, is perceived to be the snake, i.e.,
the universe as we perceive it. While we are seeing the
snake as a snake, it has a conditional reality. Our hearts
palpitate as we react to our perception. When we see
the “snake” for what it is, we laugh at our delusion.

SRI SWAMI SIVANANDA TOLD ---

SRI SWAMI SIVANANDA

BIRTH & DEATH ARE TWO ILLUSORY SCENES
IN THE DRAMA OF THIS WORLD :
REALLY NO ONE IS BORN,NO ONE DIES,
NO ONE COMES, NO ONE GOES,
IT IS Maya's JUGGLERY,
IT IS PLAY OF THE MIND :
BRAHMAN ALONE EXISTS.

GODDESS MAHALAKSHMI ALSO TOLD THROUGH
MEDIUM --

When I asked Medium old lady, to let me know whether
the world is real or unreal, Goddess repeated 3 times --
THERE IS NOTHING(ENU ILLA), THERE IS NOTHING,
THERE IS NOTHING !! The Medium out of shock ran
inside the house. After Five Years I found that Medium
has forgotten what Goddess has shown her !!

Considering the above Six Saints sayings, if the world is
UNREAL in absolute terms, is neither real nor unreal
like dream state, then really WHERE AM I ?

Location of Mind is Spiritual Heart of Man --

Even though Throat has been told as the location of Mind,
Spiritual Heart is the real location of mind as per scriptures.
Heart is nothing but Athma which is inside the body as well
as outside the body, all pervading, hence WHERE AM I ?
when I have no thoughts, hence NO MIND !

Ramana Maharshi has told, a person without Mind is Athma
or GOD ONLY !!

Swami Vivekananda has told, Athma is a circle whose centre
is at the heart of man & its outer circumference NO WHERE !
When rebirth takes place that center of circle changes from
old body to new body.

The origin of ' I ' ahankar(ego) which is the source of Mind
should be destroyed for our Spiritual Progress ! Even
PRARABHDA KARMA can be theoretically destroyed by
this method !

Three States Of a Normal Worldly Person --

He thinks world is real, all his relatives are real, his state of
mind is controlled by external situations, like happiness on
gain of money, pleasure of senses, on good health. He is
egoistic that he owns house, car & other luxury items.
Sad & sorrow on loss of money, ill health of his dear family
members, loss of life of family members, situations against
his wish, hurt to his ego etc. Thinks all the money, assets
goes to his children after his death.

In Waking State, he runs after money, position, power,
assets, not satisfied with any limits or how he earns the
money, selfish to the extent of his family only, not even
brothers & sisters are part of family.
In Dream State, he enjoys or suffers as per the dream, which
is normally perverted version of unfulfilled desires. He is in the
place where the mind plays out the dream, during dream & on
waking up he thinks dream was unreal.
In Deep Sleep State, he is in mindless state or mind rests in
Prana, he is not aware of anything, even he has a body or
not during sleep, he is not aware where he is, he is NOWHERE
Sense of ' I '.is not there for the whole duration of Deep Sleep !
The moment he wakes up, sense of ' I ' immediately creeps in.

Three States of a Jnani or Sage --

Waking State ---
He is aware of Maya & its implications, he is aware of the
unreality of the world, he is unselfish, broad minded, sees
Athma in everybody, sees  God in all. If his Kundalini has
awakened, GOD shows him unreality of the world many
times a day & without the sense of ' I ', in those periods he
will be NOWHERE !! He is in Thuriya State.

Dream State --
If the Sage has achieved Desire-less State, there will
not be Dream State at all. If Desires,Vasanas are still
remaining he will undergo dream state & realize that it is
False, on waking up.
Same Jnana a Jnani will get about Waking State on
enlightenment that world that is seen is only MIND PLAY
just like DREAM STATE !

Deep Sleep State --
He is in mindless state or mind rests in Prana, he is not
aware of anything, even he has a body or not during sleep,
he is not aware where he is, he is NOWHERE. Sense of 'I'
is not there for the whole period of Deep Sleep State.
Jnanis,Sages have told this is the Sahaja(Natural) State of
man without projection of mind or Maya !

State Of Videha Muktha(Highest Spiritual Level) --
(Due to destruction of Mind, he is abiding in Athma,
not conscious of his body as in Samadhi State)

He has NO DREAM STATE at all.
He has no thoughts at all which means he has NO MIND.
He is beyond the other Two States of Waking State &
Deep Sleep State. He hardly sleeps at all.
He may enter into Samadhi State more often.
However, he has achieved Deep Sleep State during Waking
State, by Mano Nasha(destruction of Mind) or mind merging
in Athma & that State is called as Yoga Nidra(sleeping in
Yoga even during Waking State).
He is in THURIYATHITHA STATE which is the highest
BLISS STATE & he is NOWHERE ALL THE TIME ! !
IN  STATE OF SAMADHI, WHERE IS THIS NOWHERE ?
HE IS ATHMA ONLY WHICH IS BEYOND TIME & SPACE !!

In absolute terms, even Ajnani, Jnani are NOWHERE,
as the world projected by individual mind is not Real, but
they are under the illusion of having a body due to Maya
through Mind & to fulfill their Prarabhda Karma, Kshethra
(area of activity-a very small portion of world) of illusory
world projected by their mind again by Maya,
to carryout their karmas(actions), their family, friends,
work, level of earning Money, Health, fate of success or
failure to enjoy or suffer as per their Prarabhda Karma,
Birth & Death of illusory body, is the illusory creation
of God !! --MAYA !!

I AM ALONE NOWHERE ......
If I am considered as Support(Adhara), as I am existing
with Awareness & Consciousness as Chethana(Self
supporting Consciousness), all other things projected
by my mind - my body, world seen, my family & others,
my house, land, assets are unreal like dream, that
implies that I am - Individual Jiva, is alone NOWHERE !!
as in my Deep Sleep State.
This gives rise to the question WHERE AM I ? ?
As I have eliminated all things projected by my mind
mentioned above, which amounts to mindless state,
I am left with Athma only, which is beyond TIME & SPACE,
which means it is NOWHERE !! & only when mind is active,
outside world is seen ie.,in MAYA creation, then Athma is
EVERYWHERE !!

This is the sayings of ADVAITHA PHILOSOPHY. This is
the TRUTH & NOTHING BUT TRUTH !!

WHAT IS THE THING TO BE ATTAINED BY MAN ?
WHEN THE CHITTA IS FREE FROM THREE FORCES -
SATHVA, RAJAS, THAMAS, IT IS CALLED PURUSHARTHA.

THE MIND MERGE INTO HEART SPACE, ie., ATHMA,
THEN WE WILL ATTAIN THAT ETERNAL PEACE WHICH
IS CALLED NITHYANANDA !

--------------------------------------------------------

SATHVIKA GUNA IS ALWAYS ASSOCIATED WITH
VIRTUE, GOODNESS, PEACE, BALANCE OF MIND,
CALMNESS, PLEASANT OUTLOOK, ETC.

Parameshwara teaching Shanmuga

Shanmukha told Shankara with folded hands --

Swami, God of Gods ! this world is born from Three Gunas
(Sathva,Rajas,Thamas), some people say. Please explain
whether this is true or false.

On hearing Shanmukha's request,
Hara told as follows --

Son ! It is true that this world is born from Three Gunas.
However from knowledge, this is false, from ignorance this
is true. From OM-KARA, Sathva,Rajas,Thamas are born.
Each one got divided into Three parts & became totally Nine
Gunas. From these many Gunas are formed taking shape
as form of world, creating illusion that world is True. Just as a
moment of time becomes Past,Present,Future as Three types,
in Maya these Three Gunas are born.

Rajasika people pray Rakshasas(Asuras).
Thamasa people pray Bhutha,Prethas(souls roaming
               without reaching embodiment)

Among the three types only Sathvika people study & follow
Spirituality(Paramartha) & not other types.

(Avadhutha Nishchalananda gives Varnashrama -
Brahmana, Kshathriya, Vaishya, Shudra characteristics
which are not directly related to the main subject,
please note that he has not classified varnashrama into
these 3 catagories & also not relevant in the present
day Society, hence we are not translating it not to hurt
the sentiments of our readers. Spirituality is beyond
Varnashrama, Religion, Caste, creed etc.!)

One Brahman is seen in the world as Lord of Land,
Shruthi, Yajna. In Sathkarma(good deeds), Great Souls
with good deeds to their credit(Punya Purushas), Divine,
huge things(may be Saligrama, Rudraksha, Ashwatha,
Palasha Trees, Holy Rivers like Ganga, Yamuna,
mountains like Kailasa, hills like Arunachala etc.)
believing Para-Brahman is seen in these forms is the
Best(Uttama) among people. Without feeding the body
by food, making the body light, "I shall experience
Athma inside the body" thinking thus, doing Thapas
are Asuras(Rakshas).
Being full of Ego, doing 'Show Off', without knowing
about Shastras, having Vasana of lust, are Rakshasas.

My Child ! Three Gunas which I explained to you, by
mingling in one another have filled the whole
Brahmanda(Universe). This chapter of Three Gunas, I
described to you in brief form.

Some people say, what is seen is Pramathma's Vilasa
(Leela), some people say 'Jyothirmaya', some people say
it as only 'Vision(Drishya)', some people say as 'Sathya',
some people say as 'Dream Like(Unreal)',some people
say 'everything is Brahman', let anybody say anything,
Liberation is Only One.

This should not be told to those who work against their
boss, who is not free of lust, who are ignorant & dullards.
When Shankara kindly explained thus, Shanmukha
attained great happiness & started praying lotus feet of
Shankara.
