ON BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION !!

IS IT AN OCCASION TO CELEBRATE ??

AS PER SRI SWAMY SIVANANDA--

BIRTH & DEATH ARE TWO ILLUSORY SCENES
IN THE DRAMA OF THIS WORLD :
REALLY NO ONE IS BORN,NO ONE DIES,

NO ONE COMES, NO ONE GOES,
IT IS Maya's JUGGLERY,
IT IS PLAY OF THE MIND :
BRAHMAN ALONE EXISTS.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION IS FOR THE BODY ONLY !!

NOT FOR SOUL(ATHMA), IT IS 'SATH' MEANING IT HAS
NO BEGINNING & END !! IT IS BRAHMAN !
IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN ON THE BODY WHICH IS
THE CAUSE FOR MISERY & SORROW !

NOBODY HAS EXPLAINED CLEARLY WHY & HOW THIS
ILLUSORY BODY (IT IS PART OF MAYA WORLD) IS
TAKEN ON BY ATHMA !! (PLEASE REFER POSTING--
 MOST DIFFICULT QUESTION TO ANSWER)

ONE THING IS CERTAIN, IN MINDLESS STATE,
BODY & THE WORLD DO NOT EXIST !!

When RAMANA MAHARSHI's bhakthas wanted to celebrate his birthday, he told the following two points-

1) You who intend to celebrate the birthday, first ascertain
as to whence you were born. The day that we attain a
place in that everlasting life which is beyond the reach
of birth & death,is our real birthday !

RAMANA implies getting liberated without birth-death
cycle of body ie, merging of ATHMA in PARAMATHMA.

2) Even on these birthdays, that occur once a year, we
ought to lament that we have got this body and fallen
into this maya world ! Instead we celebrate the event
with a feast ! To rejoice over it, is like decorating a
corpse ! Wisdom consists in realising the Self and in
    getting absorbed there in.

RAMANA has told for a jnani, physical body is like a
weight on ATHMA. Earlier the weight is removed by GOD,
you should be happy to get rid of it !

We are copying western culture blindly so much that present day younger generation blow out candles, cut cakes, sing "Happy Birth Day To You",take presents, eat in restaurants.Very few families visit temple on birthdays.

How far away we are from above points told by saints !
