-- Avadhootha is also called as Paramahamsa,Arudha,,Advaya,
Parama,Sarvathitha.
-- He is a liberated soul at the highest level of Turiyathitha bliss
& others cannot grasp his state nor describe it.

-- He is not restricted by mind(state of MANO NASHA) and
hence MAYA,beyond space, time & is a VIDEHA MUKTHA.
-- He is not bound by any karma,beyond all types of Yogas,
Ashramas,Jnanas.
-- Cause of this state is BRAHMA JNANA & nothing else.
This state can be achieved who belongs to any caste &
resulted due to GOD's GRACE & good deeds over many
births that has culminated in this birth,hence reached
highest level of JNANA & DISPASSION.
-- Blessed by a GURU,climbing the 7 steps of SAPTHA
BHUMIKA yogangas, being in SAMADHI STATE,following
MAUNA, SAHAJANANDA who can grasp his state who
is beyond the three states of JAGRAT,SWAPNA,
SUSHUPTHI, he is in fourth state of TURIYA or
TURIYATITA, not restricted by Nation,TIME,DAY or NIGHT.
-- Having established in the ATHMA JYOTHI, he is not aware
of the out side world, wearing cloths or not,body is getting
drenched in rain, heated in sunshine,
-- He may eat leaves,roots,may beg or may not eat till
somebody feeds him.Sleeping on stone or earth,using
hands as utensils for eating,if water is not available for
washing hands he may wipe them on to his body,having
lost sense of cleanliness.
-- AVADHOOTHA moving about in highest state of bliss is
seen like a mad person for others.He may behave like a
child, mad man or like ghost, also he may behave like
blind, dumb or deaf.
1) CHILD(BALYA) LIKE --
hence MAYA,beyond space, time & is a VIDEHA MUKTHA.

Respect,disrespect,help,no help,bad deed,good deed
profit,loss,knowledge,ignorance,imagination--all these
not being there is CHILD LIKE behavior.
2) MAD MAN(UNMATTHA) LIKE--
With unpredictable behavior, moving in rough terrain,
being bold,due to high level of dispassion,concentration
not being there on worn clothes, movements like wild
elephant is UNMATTHA state.
Swami Vivekananda himself repeatedly doubted his Guru
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, whether he is mad or not.
3)GHOST(PISHACHA) LIKE--
Turning face & hands skywards,body covered with dust,
dirt,eyes looking - yet not seeing,sleeping full of bliss, is
GHOST LIKE state. He will not hesitate to eat from
discarded food thrown in dust bin. A person belonging to
this category told Ramakrishna Paramahamsa's messenger,
for a Brahma Jnani 'Sewage water & Holy Ganga water are
one & same.
4) BLIND STATE --
Having inner vision,forgetting body,without seeing
anything visual,being in highest level of bliss with closed
eyes is BLIND STATE. This state is reached when
Kundalini rises in Sushumna nadi(spinal chord) to
Sahasrara Chakra(lotus of thousand Petals) on top of
head & stays there.which is Samadhi State.
5) DUMB STATE --
With the thought 'ATHMA is SARVANTHARYAMI' ie,
'I am in every thing,every where', thinking 'This','That','He'
'They' etc. are due to mind's dream like projection,so
'What's the use in talking' thinking thus he takes to silence
(mauna) is DUMB STATE.
6) DEAF STATE--
Due to ANAHATHA NADA of OM KARA being heard,
immersed in that, external sounds are not heard, hence
he is enjoying DEAF STATE.
-- Moving in villages,rivers,forests,thirtha kshethras,
mountains,caves,parks,higher cold regions,enjoying
BRAHMANANDA, he is exhausting his prarabda karma.
-- People with bad nature,children trouble him throwing
stones at him,putting sand,soil in his mouth when he is
in yoga nidra.
[ One incidence in Swami Nithyananda's Life--
At Bantwal near Mangalore,some miscreants tied
coconut shells around his waist & burned them.He did not
resist during the prank.By evening it rained so heavily that
whole Bantwal town got submerged in water.Elders of the
town came to know that this is the result of the prank on
Swami.They went to him, fell to his feet & prayed for his
excuse. He told them to pray to the river.They did arathi
to the river & prayed,then only the river subsided.
Swami Nithyananda used to materialise chocolates
& throw them at children]
-- Good natured people take him to their home,give him bath,
new cloths,do pada pooja,feed him with good food & do
his seva(service).As he is beyond Papa/Punya , Punya
earned by the Avadhhootha goes to these people.
-- For those who see him he looks as if powerless,ignorant
even though he is full of power & jnana.He sees ATHMA
in all hence he does not think as 'bad','good','thief',
'relative' etc.Often he may go into SAMADHI STATE
without any perception of surroundings.
-- He lives as per the situation,prarabda & no uniformity at
all. He may be in kaupeena,may be naked,may be in
king's dress,may be in empty stomach,may have eaten
sumptuous food,may eat leaves & roots, may take bath,
may not take bath for many days.May sleep on rock,on
dry leaves,may sleep in luxury of cot,bed,fan etc.Having
lost three states applicable to normal people,he may not
sleep at all.Dream state is completely lost.
-- SWAMY NITHYANANDA has told powers used by
avadhoothas are not siddies. If you use siddies you have
to be reborn.Even animals love avadhoothas as in the
case of Nithyananda,Ramana maharshi.
