--All DOUBTS & QUESTIONS arise in MIND !
--Unless we KILL THE MIND(MANO NASHA)-- DOUBTS
will continue !
--KILLING the MIND is a VERY HARD TASK but
POSSIBLE !
--Those who WANT to EARN MONEY, FAME, POWER,
ENJOY WORLDLY PLEASURES, AFRAID OF SECURITY
ie, NOT HAVING FULL FAITH / SURRENDER TO GOD
CANNOT KILL MIND !
--COMPLETE VAIRAGYA(DISPASSION) ie, in the worst
case I AM PREPARED TO BEG & EAT which is good for
annihilation of EGO(AHANKARA) should be the attitude!
& firm belief that"I AM ATMA-BRAHMAN"
--COMPLETE SURRENDER TO GOD --by MIND(MANASA),
by TALK (VACHA), by ACTION(KAYA) !
--Last but not the least GOD'S GRACE(ANUGRAHA)
ie, our effort to KILL MIND in PREVIOUS MANY
BIRTHS !
can be used to improve concentration |
When a person is able to follow above steps by prayer,
bhakthi,meditation,surrender, dispassion,egoless,very
great urge to know ATHMA & aided by his earlier birth
efforts, his hidden power(KUNDALINI SHAKTHI) at the
bottom MULADHARA (anus region) of spinal chord
(SUSHUMNA NADI) awakens. Then it rises in spinal
chord upto the top of brain (SAHASRARA ie,thousand
petaled lotus),in this stage he is as ATHMA,without MIND
ie,MIND merged with ATHMA ! Extended period in this
state is deep SAMADHI STATE
CHAKRAS |
Scriptures describe SEVEN CHAKRAS(junctions)--
MULADHARA,SWADISTANA,MANIPURA,ANAHATHA,
VISHUDDHA,AJNA,SAHASRARA(there are two minor
chakras Soma,Kameshwara between Ajna &Sahasrara
which we are not considering) along spinal chord of which
SAHASRARA is the topmost chakra. Elaborate descriptions
for each chakra with bijakshara, sound, symbols,no.of lotus
petals,representative symbols to aid concentration,powers
associated with each chakra are elaborately explained in
scriptures.
However our experience shows, we need not worry
about individual chakras elaborately as given in
scriptures, as they automatically take place when the time
is ripe,so much so you don't recognise in between chakras.
Hand mudras like AVAHANA ,ABHAYA,CHANDRA mudras
accompany rise of KUNDALINI SHAKTHI automatically.
MANO LAYA(suppressed MIND) takes place during
awakening of KUNDALINI.
Being fulfilled by the knowledge of the Self and with his
mind absorbed, and contented, the wise one lives happily,
seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and eating
ASTAVAKRA SAMHITA describes the state as follows--
There is no attachment or non-attachment in one for whom the
ocean of the world has dried up. His look is vacant, action
purposeless and the senses inoperative.
The steady one who sees the same everywhere, sees no
difference between happiness and misery, man and woman,
and prosperity and adversity.
In the wise one whose worldly life is exhausted and who has
transcended the limitations of human nature, there is neither
compassion nor any desire to harm, neither humility nor
insolence, neither wonder nor mental disturbance.
The liberated one neither abhors the objects of the senses nor
craves for them. Ever with a detached mind he experiences
them as they come.
The wise one of vacant mind knows not the conflict of
contemplation and non-contemplation, good and evil. He
abides as it were in the state of Absoluteness.
An indescribable state is attained by the wise one whose mind
has melted away, its functions having ceased to operate, and
who is free from delusion, dreaming or dullness.
To forget everything is the ultimate means.Without
thought world does not arise, hence do not think. When nothing
arises in mind, forget all,the mind itself is lost.Erase thoughts
of all kinds,of things enjoyed, not enjoyed or otherwise,
altogether forget everything.Always think of Brahman and this
way all worldly thoughts will vanish and thought of Brahman
alone will remain.when this becomes steady, without thinking
"I am Brahman", be the very Brahman.
& MANO NASHA (death of MIND).In MANO LAYA stage after
remaining in mindless state for sometime, mind becomes active
again ! Effort has to be made repeatedly in this stage to remain
as ATHMA(SELF) by PRANAVA(OMKAR),nama japa,
Gayathri Manthra, concentration of mind on jyothi or form you
like ie,meditation & dispassion.After repeated effort DEATH
OF MIND(MANO NASHA) takes place, never to become active
again. In this stage no more doubts & questions arise !!
THIS IS LIBERATION(MOKSHA) while living who is called
as "JEEVNMUKTHA."

Writing the Tamil song without giving it's meaning in English
ReplyDeleteis not useful to the readers of this blog to appreciate it.
Accept my Humble Namaskarams and Pranams ...
ReplyDeleteFor the benefit of all readers
I passed by this blog and I am trying to do a literal translation of the tamil verse for benefit of readers .
மூளைக்கு - Moolaikku - Mind
ஓய்வு - Oyivu - Rest
தன்தால் - Thandhaal - Act of giving
நாளைக்கே - Naalaikke - by Tomorrow
வீடு - Veedu - Home
"Resting one's mind gets him back home instantly" -- This is my attempt to make it more meaningful . "back home" really indicates the act of merging with Brahman or getting back to where you started it all ...
Namskarams BALU. K,
DeleteThank you so much for taking time to
translate the Tamil Song. The song means
" Achieving thoughtless state of Mind,
by tomorrow itself, you will be at Home,
ie, SOUL(Brahman)".
The Song has a real Good Meaning.
Thanking you,once again,
